OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY FOR AUTISM

AS PART OF OUR INFINTE CARE PROGRAM

Evidence-based practices show that interdisciplinary practices can improve the lives of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, and to that end we have begun offering occupational therapy as a supplementary service to regular ABA sessions.

Our clinical open-door policy allows these services to work in tandem with the program devised by your child's BCBA, meaning that our licensed occupational therapists work hand-in-hand with RBTs and BCBAs to collaborate and augment training opportunities for your kiddo throughout their sessions!

WE ARE CURRENTLY OFFERING OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AS PART OF OUR INFINITE CARE PROGRAM, IN SELECT SERVICE AREAS.

WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Some kiddos may have challenges with processing and regulating information from their body and environment, and these can lead to difficulties with attention, self-regulation, and skill development. Licensed occupational therapists (OTR/Ls) look at a wide range of activities and domains in order to help individuals become more independent.

Sessions utilize a variety of individualized interventions and will look different from child to child. In a single session, you may see obstacle courses built to test gross motor and sensory needs, table-top activities to strengthen fine motor skills, and board games to address skills like turn-taking and sportsmanship.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I'm Interested, but how do I get started?

Please contact either our Care Team or your Regional Director of Operations to discuss the services you are interested in and your potential schedule.

I'm Interested, but what if I'm already seeing another provider for speech-language therapy?

As parents, it is your choice to decide which provider will best meet the needs of you and your child. Our ABA team can collaborate and coordinate care with other providers, or you can speak to our Care Team if you are interested in transitioning services to our team of speech-language pathologists.

How long are speech-language therapy sessions?

Your SLP team will determine hours based on what is medically necessary for your kiddo and their goals. Speech-language therapy can, for example, be conducted in 30 or 60 minute sessions, and can take place 1 to 3 times per week.
